I have 1 African butterfly fish and 10 pygmy cories. No new introductions in months -- fish or plants. I noticed yesterday a cory was lethargic and swimming funny, occasionally having to flip himself right side up after barrel rolling a few times. I started looking into swim bladder disorder...
Im not sure if this has been mentioned, but how long has this tank been set up? Otos need a mature tank so they can feed off the biofilm. I have pygmy cories who also require a mature tank, but I'm not sure if this holds true for other cories. I would lean towards the batch of fish.
I think I will only dose Flourish once a week. I began to panic when my banana plants started doing badly and upped the dosage to twice a week.
These banana plants irritate me, but they're my favorite. Only put the bananas 1/4 inch in the substrate they said, but every time, once they really...

1. I'm ready to make a last plant run. I would like to add some more banana plants now that I've found the secret to...
The Internet has the same info over an over on this fish, so talking with other people that have this oddball is really the only way to figure them out. They seem to have limited vision, which would make sense for an animal that relies so heavily on movement. They're basically bats with some...
Make sure the filter output isn't too strong. They rely on surface disturbance to find food. African butterfly fish are wild caught and usually won't take to flake immediately. I would start off on small crickets and work on up to pellets. You might have to poke the pellets with tweezers a...
I had some plants melt on me (cleaned them too well with hydrogen peroxide dip), so I removed what was left of them. I have three banana plants left, which have proven to have an invasive, complex root system, which spreads from one side of my 20 long to the other. I'm having trouble telling...
Bristlenose needs driftwood. I used malaysian. Its more splintery than other types, but its cheaper at least around my parts. I find mopani to be too hard, though the two-tone look is gorgeous. Can't speak on behalf of the other types.
A 20 is too small for an angel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 6" top to bottom is pretty average for an adult. I've heard of them getting larger.
Also, the gourami-angelfish combo might be a problem. I'm sure someone with angel experience could tell you better.
