    Dwarf gourami with Bolivian ram

I have a Blue Gourami (3 spot), and they are said to be one of the more aggressive types. I also have 4 Bolivians, and he does not bug them at all. Maybe a quick chase now and then during feeding time, but other than that, no. But the thing about Gourami is that it seems to depend almost 100% on...

    White stringy stuff in aquarium

Look, I think people are trying to be nice, but you admit that you need some help. So, yes, the answer is, that is bad. You need to do 25% water changes per week or so to keep a healthy tank. I would agree with one of the posters and say that you should do a few weeks of 50% water changes to get...

    Wood

Wow, that opens up a world of possibilities for me! I did do some research in that i should scrub it first, then boil for a few hours, soak it for a night, boil, soak, boil soak, etc until the water tastes clean, and you can not smell any salt. Would I run into any problems with the wood...

    Wood

I have another question. I live near the Ocean here in California. Would harvesting driftwood there and boiling/soaking it for a long time get all the salt out of it eventually. Even if it took a month or two? Would it be useable?

Rivercats, those look great. Do you remember where you got them? Online, or local?

    Wood

Due to the size of the wood, I do not think I will be able to boil it. I will be approximately 3 feet long. :(

    Wood

I have been doing some research, and wanted to put some wood in my tank. It seems the couple best choices are Mopani and Mylasian. I have a large tank 135g, and would like for this to be a centerpiece. I have located an option for large pieces that are 2-3 feet each. I have a few concerns. I...

Anyone interested in discussing Rainbow fish

He is beautiful! Mine often get that top of the mouth injury. Mine always get it from being scared and running into something. It never usually bothers them in my experience. Just keep an eye on it so that you do not get a disease, and you will be fine. Great colors! :)

    Innovative Snail Intelligence

You guys opened up my world. I feel like I NEED a snail or two now! :) Ok, so what snails are good options? I do not currently have live plants (i know, i know, i should, but I don't) but do plan to. What is an attractive snail that will not get out of control, wont devour live plants (I...

    Innovative Snail Intelligence

Very funny. You know, I have never owned a snail before. Everyone always told me to stay away from them, as if you ever wanted to, you could never get rid of them. I kinda feel like maybe I want to try them out. :)

    Hardy Discus

I know the title is a misnomer, However, out of all the discus, do any of them have more hardyness than others? Which ones tolerate (may be a different one for each category?): 1) a little cooler water 2) slightly less than perfect water quality 3) any other aspect I am missing I am really...

This is nice. Thanks. I apparently am paying a lot less money to run my 135g than I thought! What a nice surprise.

Anyone interested in discussing Rainbow fish

Yes, I have. I had a Praecox that was so aggressive, I gave him away for free to my LFS. Needless to say he was one of the most colorful I had ever seen. The store was delighted, and I see him in their display tank every time I go in. If fish could talk, I am sure he would mock me. Anyway, It...
