For the Purple Tang? Mine has been great in my reef tank, I'd say it's proably my favorite fish. He is a bit aggressive, but it hasn't caused any problems.
I recommended one because they're pretty good survivors.
I agree about avoiding a dragonet (manderin 'goby'), they usually need a lot of live rock to do well- I've read that they need at least 75 lbs. I wasn't able to keep one in my 55 gallon tank. You might consider a hawkfish and/or a cardinal fish instead of the Tang and the Dragonet

What are the most effective methods to clean coraline algae off of the glass in your tank? I've got quite a bit forming near the sand layer of the glass in front of my tank adn was hoping to clean it off without stirring up too much of the sand.
Watch you tank and find out where it lives. If you can remove that rock while the shrimp's still in it you've got a number of options to chase it out and catch it.
