    Zoo and Chalice ID Please?

The zoas look like "Ked Redds" to me. Can't say for the second one though.

    What is this!?

Interesting. I used to have Hair Algae but then cyano came and covered the hair algae and it sorta looked like that... Closest thing other than the Hair Algae + Cyano is "Callithamnion" aka Cotton Candy Algae...

what is sticking out of my sand..

How much sand did you suck out or how long have you had the sand bed? That happens to my tank too when I suck out a good amount of sand. I believe they're those live stuff that's responsible that makes our sand 'alive', ya know, those organisms that is responsible for lowering our Nitrate... I...

    New coral what you rekon

Looks like Alvepora/Gonipora to me. Their track record is pretty spotty long term. If you do get one, make sure it's ORA, since those have a better track record. They like lots of lighting and good amount of flow. If you want a starter coral, I also agree with zoas (probably what I recommend...

    Identification help

I use "Red Sea's Aptasia-X". Works pretty well for me. Their youtube video is pretty entertaining too lol

    Greenturtle's Biocube 29 Build Thread!!!

I hear ORA Mandrains are a bit tough, even for nano tanks. Even though they may take in prepared foods, they might end up discovering live foods and might switch to that instead... Hector's goby is nice too, but only if you have algae and live foods, hence that's why they shift sand. They're...

    Coral Dips

I have ReVive Coral Cleaner. I like it. Smells great too. I have lugol's too but I mainly use it for bacterial dips. Can't say much about Coral Rx though.

To dip, or not to dip, that is the question?

Dip it. You don't want any bad hitchhikers in your tank. If you don't take care of them now, you'll probably have to spend more $$$ and/or time trying to get them out.

    Palys?

How long have you had them? I have a couple of bleached out white palys I got from someone and it's been only about a month and a half and they're coloring up slowly. It takes time for bleached out corals to get their color back. Some palys/zoas grow longer tentacles due to high flow (that's...

    Questions about a QT

I dunno, coral dipping doesn't kill all the potential pests, like Acrapora Eating Flatworms, Red Bugs, Nudibranches (especially their eggs), and aptasia/manajo. There's other pest algae, such as bryopsis and bubble algae. Coral dipping them doesn't kill them off and once those hitchhikers take a...

    Questions about a QT

I'm not too sure for SPS. A qt tank lighting is good enough so you can supplement it lighting during qt stages. As long the qt isn't too tall. I have a 5gal qt tank for zoas and have a small 13w pc light for them.

    How do Refugiums Work?

+99999999999. A small nano isn't suited for a mandarin, unless you have a 70gal refugium filled with rocks and cheato hooked up to it. Even if it eats prepared food, it can stop eating it out of nowhere. I've seen people who owned mandrains died of starvation because they prefered the taste of...

    Re-cycling biocube

Cyano eh? What kind of water are you guys using? Cyano feeds off from phosphate (found mostly in tap water). Some snails eat them, but they come off better when you suck them up from water changes. Btw, I think you are good cycling wise. I assume you guys only have sand/rocks in it. Just add...
