Personally I stay FARRR away from neons. Something always happens to them, perhaps wild caught ones would be better. But in my area all of the tetras I've bought since I was a kid always have some sort of issue. They either are frail, die right away, or get diseases and don't recover. I've fount...
Thanks for all the helpful comments. I appreciate it. I going to go with pool sand next pay check and of course rise it to make sure. I love the bucket idea then using a pillow case. Just for good measure. I ALWAYS was everything, **** near the fish themselves before I put anything in my tank.
I decided to go with some jewls. If and when the Nics get to aggressive I have a 20L to put them in. I also grabbed a polylipturis senagalis ?? Sorry if I butchered the name. He will go into my 90gal planted tank when the time comes.
I have a 55gal with 8 red eye tetras and 2 Nicaraguan cichlids and I was wondering what other cichlids if any I could put in there. I was thinking fire mouths but then I have to consider there max size. If I did get any other cichlids I'd like to start with a group and get a pair. So in the end...
Well I'm going to run to my.. LPS. (Local pool store) hope that catches on. Lol
But yeah Friday I'll make a trip there and check it out. Any recommended way of cleaning it. The tanks already set up so I'd have to move the fish into a cooler with a pump and decor for a hr or so while I switch...
If it's ich then dot bother to QT him. What happens is ich is a parasite that attaches itself to the fish then spreads through out rapidly. Unless you QTd in a matter of hours then treat the tank. Use quick cure for 3-5 days, add some aquarium salt, and up your temp to 80-82 degrees. Also. Each...
It will. I want to silicone a manzanetia beach coming from my hood down into the tank. Just haven't found that right branch. I'd also like to add some live plants and a larger more center piece looking type of driftwood. I rushed in IMO because I wanted that pair of Cichlids. They have been in...
My LFS of course. I even worked there and they told me that starting at age 16 I left a year later but still love to go in. Yeah. I suppose the goes to show cross check your sources. So I suppose 60-65lbs shall do. Also. Are my only choices the white pool sand for cheap, what colors can I pick...
How many pounds of sand should I use. I know for gravel it's generally 1-2 lbs per gallon. Same rule of thumb? Also do they have darker sand or just pure white.
I love sand. BUT the issue is how dirty the sand gets very quickly. I'd go to sand in a heartbeat. Problem is I can see every little speck of dirt and poop on it.
Went to a LFS today and I need to get gravel if this size for my cichlids to dig. The gravel I bought at lowes is really cheep. But also really big. The LFS charges 18.99 for a 25 lb bag. I have a 55gal tank and would like to put in 100lbs. That's way to expensive just for some rocks. Does...
If your worried you could buy a plant that is cheep. Maybe anacharis. But sev's love to eat plants. I'd always but some about once a month for my Raspberry head Sev's. Just a thought
