    Black Algae Spots or Eggs?

Hey guys, Just checked out my tank this morning, and found these black spots? Before I remove the driftwood and give the tank a clean, I just wanted to make sure that it is indeed algae/fungus and not eggs. Fish in tank: - German Blue Ram - Electric Blue Balloon Ram - Bolivian Ram - Golden...

    Dwarf Gourami?

I've noticed this too. My electric blue ram which I've had for 7+ months was very aggressive to his smaller friend when I bought them - the smaller of the two died shortly after. I just picked up a GBR (I decided to get a nice docile one from the LFS as there was one very aggressive one), and...

    Dwarf Gourami?

I've read stories of Rams and Gourami not getting along to well; particularly with Gourami showing aggression towards the Rams. I'll say the Rams aren't the easiest fish to keep, but they are easy enough once the become accustomed to your tank. I currently have an electric blue Ram, a blue Ram...

I'd say the loaches are more weird than anything - they never stop looking for food! haha - The bristlenose haven't come out too much, we've got a brown and a darker brown one.

Bristlenose Catfish/Bristlenose Pleco indeed :) I believe catfish is just another name for them, I'm aware that they are pleco.

    TheNewKids' Tank Journey

I'm just planning on bumping it from 26 to 28. We typically do the water changes by hand (testing the temp that is) but try to get it as close to possible - well aware of 'shocking' them with cold water :) - we just do medium temp from the tap and de-chlorinate before adding. So would bumping...

    TheNewKids' Tank Journey

Anyone got any ideas temperature wise? We've put the tank up to 26 degrees, will the guppies and platies fair well in a 28 degree tank? Our heater only goes up by 2s -.-

For those interested, we've yet to find any more dead fry against the filter, so hopefully the more frequent water changes of late have corrected that issue! We went past the LFS today and picked up some Hikari First Bites, they seem to like it. Also picked up: 2 x electric blue ram 4 x...

They definitely, we just haven't had the time of late to keep up with daily water changes and what not. I believe the tank is beginning to cycle - we've lost around 6 fry which we found dead against the filter. All the adults are alive and well they seem to be happily breeding!

Thanks for following - feels like I'm talking to myself sometimes haha; you guys definitely keep me motivated to keep updating the journal. Haha, she'd definitely be tired - I know she started popping them out around 4AM, and by 4:50 or so she'd only had 5 or 6 - so, I'd imagine that her labour...
