Just had a question about using a reef monitor as I've been researching different ones....is this overkill if I'm staying on top of water changes for a 10gallon nano reef? I was seeing mixed reviews on these monitors & would rather not put out the money if its a piece of junk. Thanks!

They look like some sort of pigeon blood strain. Make sure you do lots of feelings and water changes since they are still juveniles.

You can do water changes with warm water which will also keep your nitrates down. I've lost power for 4 days straight and that's what I did and didn't lose any fish. I also agree with insulating the tank with blankets. Good luck

You keep your lights on for 12 hrs? I would cut back to 9-10 hrs
