My Ph was under 7. According to my fish guy who services a couple other tanks in this area, it is our water. They recommended adding buffer to my top off water. My tank is now a little above 8 so I decided to check my change water to avoid a sudden drop. It was about 7.5 so I decided to put some...
This is an established tank (7yrs). The water is not in the tank but in the trash can I use for mixing. I just don't want to kill my fish if I use it. Buffer was Alkalin8.3-P KH Buffer..

I was having some low Ph problems and had been putting some buffer in my top off water. Today I put some in my water change water and when I added my salt mix, it turned cloudy. Should I not use it?

My husband came home with 2 of these and the coral it's on. I don't know what either is or how to care for them. Help appreciated.
The place he bought these from also had a matched pair of Hawaiian Tahitian butterfly's for $400! Live aquaria sells them for $999.

I'm happy to report that the dino is much better. I covered the tank with a blanket for 48 hours and then left the lights off for another 24. I did a 20% water change, added some phosphate media and as of today, it is almost gone. Thanks to all who replied and helped me.
Be careful. I brought home a cute tiny little crab that my grandkids caught. He was probably about 5/8" diameter. Next thing I know he's the size of a nickel and scrapping with the fish for food. Then he decided the fish WERE food. My LF found him a home in an aggressive fish tank.
