Yes. Either a bunch of different males or about 3-5 species with 1m and 3/4f. What are you looking for? Do you wanna deal with babies? - I switched to an all male so that I don't have to strip and grow out an deal with babies. Lol How much color do you want? - I also switched to males for...

Can you do an all male tank with only part of the fish.

I do not support intentional crossbreeding. It's against nature and will have long term detrimental effects on cichlids as a whole. However, selective breeding (color morphs, albinism, and other recessive traits) is fine in all regards.

My fish seem to be most social/ tolerate each other best when they're eating- cause who wouldn't be happy?! I feed 2-3 times a day, but in real small amounts; it forces them to all be near one another, plus, it teaches them that motion out side of the tank is good and that they shouldn't hide! Lol

    Is this a male?

It's hard to say. Right off the bat, I would say female based upon lacking the black on the pec fins. However, I do see white coloring on re throat and other places, which points to crossbreeding. If that's the case, it could be a male with poor colors...

    55gal stock advice

Well if you're after color and variety, have you thought about going to an all male tank? I recently just returned a bunch of fish to the lfs and kept only some choice males: Electric Yellow Lab (Labridochromis c.) Electric Blue Hap (Sciaenochromis fryeri) Zebra Obliquens (Astatotilapia...
