If pellets and flakes don't work try live food Like adult brine shrimp or black worms Or frozen food, also mosquito larvae is a favorite for Bettas so if you get a chance try them with your betta

Lol I'm pretty sure it's just it's coloration Convicts are naturally a dark color but pink ones like that with black spots present are common I'm sure if you breed it it's fries will have some patterns like that also

I dont really have a clear view on the white spots but Maybe that's a sign of fin rot which is a common problem with half moon Bettas like that one but for your betta to die over night it could be parasites for me, i usually don't use any thing else but aquarium salt to cure all of my Bettas...
