Dealing with high ammonia and green tank. I have Bio-Chem Zorb that has been in the filter for about a week. I know they say to change every 3 months, but I was wondering how much more frequently I should replace it with the current problem. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for your advice. I went to check out the UV filter and ended up buying a new canister filter with a uv bulb built in. After 24 hrs I can see a about 1 in. into the tank, where before I couldn't even see that much. Once the new filter settles in, I'll go add some live plants.
