    Three weeks and nitrites still off the chart

    I just finished cycling a 46G tank. It took close to 2 weeks for nitrites to come down. In my case it didn't come down to 0 either. It stayed at 0.25 - 0.5 % for another week before finally coming down to 0. Just kept feeding Ammonia and then finally did a 50% final change to make sure...

    Yipeee .. 46G finally cycled Yipeee 4 week and 2 days and 46G finally completely cycled. ( Needed a lot of patience with fishless cycling) Now off to moving the Goldies from 30G to the 46G one at a time.

    Fishless cycling requires a lot of patience. Mine completed in just under 4 weeks. It took almost like 10 days for Ammonia to drop down to 0 ppm . For me last step Nitrites to Nitrates took forever ( or at least felt so ). I was tempted to use filter media from an established tank to speed up...
