I think one of my angelfish is laying eggs on the filter shaft. I have two, but I don't know if they're male or female. I really don't want to deal with babies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen any sign of injury, but I haven't been able to clearly see the side he's laying on. Water flow shouldn't be an issue as I have two air stones with my filter setup.

Right now the only fish I have in there are the Pearl Danio. He could have injured himself on the fake hollow logs I have in there.
All the water specs are in acceptable range.
Ph: 7.6
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10-20ppm
I have only done one water change so far after having the fish two...
I have five pearl Danio in a 36 gallon tank with hanging filter and live plants. Before going on vacation for four days I vacuumed the gavel and did about a 50% water change. When I did the change I left the fish in because I don't have a bucket to put them in and I'm afraid my cats will go...
I've noticed this stuff on the pipe to my filter. Does anyone know what is could be? Could it be effecting the health of my fish?

Went to my LFS to get my first fish for my tank. I got a school of five Danio to start with because the shopkeeper says they are the easiest to start with. Here is hoping my cats don't think they are getting a free lunch.
I am new to fish keeping. I am cycling my 36 gallon tank and the readings today were:
A: 0 ppm
Nite: 5 ppm
Nate: 10 ppm
So my question is when do I do a water change? Do I wait till the Nitrites are at zero? Do I wait till the nitrates are higher? Thanks!
