I'm not precisely sure what you mean by low tech setup. Am I missing something? I've been looking into CO2, but haven't decided on how to tackle it.

Well, the title basically says it all. I bought a pot of hairgrass to plant in my newly converted planted tank. I'm using Seachem's Flourite Black Sand, and have planted Seachem Flourish Tabs at the base of the plant. I removed the plant and roots from the potted material prior to planting, but...

I do have plants, but it's all new and hasn't filled out yet. Snails eat poop? Or am I misunderstanding?

I'll try the fork idea, although some of the detritus is in hard to reach places. :( Maybe I should have gone with the gravel instead of the sand (although, sand looks really, really nice!)

So, silly question: How do you go about vacuuming something like this? Fish poop is much easier to spot now...
