They are awesome fish! You will have no idea how beautiful they are until they are full grown. Ime nobody dares mess with them. Although they are peaceful they have some seriously gnarly teeth! I really want to get a couple more
I've had my pair of pandas for a couple years now. They aren't as sensitive as hillstream loaches. They are in fact some of the hardiest fish I've ever had. My tank is tropical with low water flow and they are just fine!
A 20 gallon is too small for Australian rainbows or angels. There are many much prettier species of rainbows that might work in a 20. Such as threadfins, furcatas and celebes. Size wise dwarf neon rainbows would work but they r pretty hyper for a 20
Unfortunately these are common goldfish. You cannot add any tankmates even if you upgrade your tank. A 30+ is ok for fancy goldfish but these guys have the capability to get HUGE. The best thing to do since they are healthy is find someone with a pond and rehome them. Sorry, I know you are...
