I am adding flourish every other day and also just added some root tabs. Should I be adding iron as well? What would be a good weekly cocktail for the tank? Up for any solutions.

    plant help

So I have had my tank up and running for over a year and as of late have been having some trouble with plants dying. The latest is a Madigascar lace. It was doing great for about 2 months then within 2 days it started turning brown. Some of the other "hard to kill pants" such as some amazon...

    Floating Plant Recommendations?

I had duckweed at one point and it just looked kind of messy. I've also had frogbit and it died off/ got eaten, but when it was healthy it looked pretty awesome. If you are looking for something with long roots look at water lettuce.

    Black beard algea help.

Well I used some aqueon algea remover and the next day 4 dead fish. I fell as though this is a sign to not start another tank, which I already bought. Pretty bad few days for my aquarium.

    Black beard algea help.

I went through my tank and cut out and removed any plant that I saw the algea on and moved it to a different environment (large bamboo vase). I don't see much of the algea left but I am buying all of the things recommended and will continue to monitor the situation. The infected plants were...

    Black beard algea help.

I have been pretty good about removing dead plant and any debris that collects on the bottom. I haven't really changed to much. I keep adding plants and I have heard that sometimes that could be the cause. I have some algae killer and a product that says it removes algae ( I will get the name...

I have had my tank up and running for almost a year and haven't had any major issues until now. I'm pretty sure there is black beard algea starting in my tank and want to get at it before it gets to bad. I noticed it a few days ago and did some research so I figured I would ask what people have...

trying to start a saltwater tank (first time)

I'm thinking of some easy corals like pulsing xenia, green star polyps, frog spawn and zoanthid corals. I may also throw some macro algea in there as well because I think it looks kind of nice. I have read online and seen on youtube that these don't need any sort of crazy lighting and I could...

trying to start a saltwater tank (first time)

I have had freshwater tanks pretty much most of my life and always wanted to try my hand in the saltwater game. I have been to afraid to start one because people say its so hard. Another reason is it is expensive! So my goal here is to keep it on the cheap side and add to it as I go along. Petco...

Powerhead in a 20H Freshwater Tank

I have a 29 gallon planted tank and just bought a hydor koralina 425 pump and it is moving the debris from the bottom of the tank perfectly. I have it almost at the top of the tank and there is great movement even on the bottom. I'm not sure what it may do with the sand but I guess maybe try a...

Benifit of having powerhead in freshwater tank

I have a heavily planted 30 gallon tank and its hard to get the vacuum in all the densely planted areas without messing up the plants. Debris is coming off plants and needs to be cleaned somehow. I was wondering if getting a small powerhead to get some flow will help get the debris moving around...

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

My first tank was a 55 gallon piranha tank that I raise them from babies ( the size of a piece of rice). I had them for about 6 years and had to move so I sold them. Now I have a 30 gallon planted tank with the focus on a pair of German blue rams and a 5 gallon planted betta tank.
