URGENT ADVICE: Fish swim'g upside down, but fighting death

Sounds like a swim bladder problem and if that is the case, there probably isnt anything you can do for him. Maybe someone else will come with better advice for ya. But in the future I wouldnt keep a goldfish in a ten gallon as they get much too large for that small of a tank. They also produce...

More questions on angel matchmaking...(pics added)

Thanks Brian. I did some research before I bought them, I even got rid of my blackskirts so there were no nipping problems, I just didnt realize that you could only keep one pair in a tank. Oh well, 2 will still be amazing. They are beautiful. I thought I wanted marbles until I saw the black...

    One more question on angels....

I would go with 5. Thats what I have started with and you have a greater chance of having a true pair. I was lucky and got all 5 dime sized black angels at an auction for 9 bucks! Anyway, if you are looking for a good pair, I would go with more than 3 that way you are pretty much guaranteed a...

More questions on angel matchmaking...(pics added)

Well, looks like I am going to have to get another tank lol. I really love those little guys and I havent even had them a week and they have already visibly grown!! They are very pretty and I am glad I waited until I found some I really wanted instead of buying the first ones I came across.

What are the odds of no pair forming? Then would they all live together in peace? Or is this a bad situation? Would they be happier if they paired?

More questions on angel matchmaking...(pics added)

I also have a question, I just purchased 5 juvenile black angels at an auction. They are schooling very well together now, not much bigger than a dime. But what if they pair off? Can you have 2 pairs in one tank? Someone told me this is not possible.

    My boss' large tanks

My boyfriends boss has a 300 gallon and her husband used to work in a fish store. She told us that you are NEVER supposed to clean your tank. That it is bad for the fish and that they need algae to survive. We have tried to convince her otherwise but to no avail. I would love to test her water!

Stocking Help: What are FUN fish?

Danios are fun little fast fish and you can get quite a few for a tank that size. I would steer clear of the black ghost knife previously suggested as they can & will grow to over a foot! I have seen several that have gotten that large so I know it is not a crock. If you are looking for shrimp...

    When do angels pair?

I bought 5 very small(dime sized) black angels at an auction on saturday. I got all 5 for 9 bucks! Anyway, I am wondering how fast it will take them to grow to full size and I would also like to know at what size should I begin looking for pairing off? If I have a mix of males and females that is.

    Is this bad?

LOL... Or that blow up furniture can be nice. The only prob with that for me is the 5 cats I have! We have a chocolate lab that hates sleeping on the floor so much that when we have company and there is nowhere for him to sit, he will go lay in the bathtub lol. I guess I could just use that if I...

Studmaster, I would LOVE to see pics of your tanks. They sound very interesting!

What is the "theme" of your aquarium?

I guess we have a sunken ship "theme" in our tank. We have 2 giant halves of a sunken ship and some fake plants. There is a little treasure chest in the middle. As far as names go, I have only named my bettas. I named them after my fav movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The white one is Roger and...

    Is this bad?

I was given a 55g a few months ago. Thus the MTS has begun. Then my boyfriends little bro gave me his betta and the poor little guy was in a 1g so then I had to buy a 10g. My friend is supposed to be giving me another 10g and my boyfriends boss is talking about letting him work in her barn for a...

I had an upside down catfish that got stuck in the net and we had to cut him out, then he had a peice of the net stuck around his side fin....i tried to get it off but couldnt, it fell off after about 2 weeks or so and he was no worse for wear. It did scare me enough to never try the net on him...

I tested my water-here are the results

If you go to petsmarts website they have the AP Freshwater Master Test Kit for 13.99. Take it into your local petsmart and they will probably match that price. I know mine did and in store the cost was 27.99 so it is well worth it.

Is there a TINY heater for a 1 gallon tank?

I am pretty sure you cannot get a heater for a 1 gallon, however, you can buy a heater for the 2.5 gallon at walmart for like 7 bucks. I would advise in getting a 2.5 gallon tank and getting a heater because if you have any problems, which you eventually probably will as the colder temps cause...

    Water changing filter/heater

I have to disagree about your statement. There are several reasons your ammonia and nitrate will go up in a cycled tank. Too many fish, too much food, not enough water changes will all cause those readings to fluctuate. They are not only present in tanks that arent cycled. They SHOULD only be...
