My experience is one male will dominate the other. I had 2 males and the dominant one fought for food and the other never got to an adult male size and died. They were dwarf honey gouramis. I currently have a single male dwarf gourami and he seems happy as a clam. I wouldn't have 2 males again.

Yes, the heater is fine. I have 2 thermometers in the tank, 1 digital and 1 mercury style. I thought maybe the co2 was the issue. That is the only thing I could see what different but I think that may be a stretch.

Hi Yes I did toss the lfs water but did get the new fish today and tested. The lfs has really high PH 7.6 +. I am in the midst of the correct acclimation. Thank you for the good luck :)
