I find it interesting that it could have been the angles since tetras and rosboras are listed as good tank mates. Thanks for the help!!

    need help fast

I bought 10 neon tetras and I also have 4 angelfish and some roseboras. I also have a spotted rubbernose pleco that is about 3 inches long with a max of 4 inches. I just found one of my tetras dead and another larger neon tetra with its tail gone. Would a pleco this small have done this or could...

    water change

I saw a post from a fresh water aquarium keeper who puts water in a 32 gallon trash can, filters, heats and treats it to soften it because of high PH from the tap and uses it for water changes. Anyone ever heard of this?

    feeding question

I have a 55 gallon tank with 22 fish. Tetras, danios and corys. I mostly use flake food which I pinch to make it smaller. The concern is most of the food is eaten by the danios and tetras at the surface leaving little for the black phantom tetras which tend to stay near the bottom half of the...

    nitrate question

Thanks for the replies. I saw a post where someone did a 10% water change on a 55 gallon tank so approx. 5 gallons. They mixed 2.5 gallons of tap with 2.5 gallons of spring water. Wonder if that works to reduce nitrates.

    elp needed

My PH level and nitrate levels seem to go high in a short amount of time, hours, even after a water change. I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 filters, one of which is cycled, the other is cycling. I have 16 fish in it. To many fish? Not sure why PH and Nitrate level go so high in such a short...

    PH Down

I am hoping someone can answer a PH question. My PH is high, up around 8.5-9. I am going to use PH down but was wondering how fast is safe. Also, when doing a water change, I see advice saying its better to put water in a bucket and lower it there. Then transfer it to the tank. I’m just...

Hi All, Im fairly new to this hobby. I have a 55 gallon tank that I have been waiting to fill but spent the last 2 months cycling the filter in a 15 gallon tank. In the meantime I built and stained a stand for it, which turned out pretty good. I finally got it filled, up to temp, one f two...
