I have 8 black phantom tetras already in there and a longfin bristlenose in QT. I was planning to add some kuhlis as well. Would 1 be okay as a centerpiece?
Hey, i'm looking for some opinions on my stocking plan. I've ran into multiple problems setting up this tank and i'd like to avoid further ones!
I originally got 4 juvenile Keyhole cichlids, 2 paired up and started tormenting the other 2 (which are male and female), so I had to move the 2...
Where did you buy the plants? Mine came from plants that I bought. I'm not sure if i'm allowed to mention this forum but i've seen a lot of posts on Fishlore about these mites.
Oddly enough across a few different forums i've been seeing people posting about the same mites recently. I wonder where they're coming from.
Have you gotten plants from anywhere recently?
I took the tank down and sold it. I only ever saw the mites eating detritus, dead plants and slime from the silicone. I won't lie; I hated putting my hands in the tank knowing there was mites in there. :ermm:
Yes, the ones I had you could never see move but they were in different spots if you left for a while and looked at the tank again. I have a feeling the only way to get rid of them would be to start the tank over, unless there's something out there that I don't know of that would kill them.
My Aquaclear 50 was grinding and terribly noisy when I got it. I was sent new impellers and a new motor which didn't work. Almost a year later and I can't hear it with the TV on but my Topfin filter is dead silent compared to this one.
I would do one larger school. Fish would be happier that way. What about;
1x angel
8-10x harlequin rasbora (or a larger tetra instead)
2x bolivian rams, m/f
8-10x cories or 12x kuhli loaches (as long as you have sand)
Not sure honeys would do well with the angel..
Been thinking about a stocking plan, would love anyones thoughts.
1x bristlenose pleco
1x angelfish or 1x bolivian ram
8-10x harlequin rasboras
6-8x corydoras (sterbai or bronze)
I wish I could keep it entirely south american but i'm not too fond of many tetras...
Small catfish, I really like cories. I'm not sure what Central American cichlids there are but I do know I like bolivian rams.
If I were to incorporate angels.. how would I do so to reduce aggression? Keep 1? Have a school of fish with it?
Finally picking up a larger tank (and my largest!) next month, the Aqueon 36 bowfront ensemble.
It'll definitely be housing a bristlenose pleco but the rest of the stock is up in the air. I'm very fond of cichlids and catfish. Do you guys have any ideas of what I could stock it with? Is an...
After many changes to my 20 gallon long i've finally got it looking the way i've always wanted; heavily planted jungle style. :brows: To think I just made another plant order...
I've currently got around 9 kuhli loaches and 9 ember tetras. I only do 10% water changes a week and by the end of...
Thank you, I will check those out!
I had read up a little bit about ember tetras but i'm getting conflicting info on whether they're shy fish or not. Some people said that they needed a single dither fish to keep the tetras alert and not hide.
I just got back into the hobby in 2017 and i've...
Hey guys,
My quarantine tank is almost ready for new fish. I have a heavily planted 20g long with just kuhli loaches so i'd love some activity at the top. I've been looking into espei rasbora, harlequin rasbora, and purple harlequin rasbora. Is there any differences between harlequins and...
I've got a 20g long (Ac50 with 10g sponge filter) with 10 pangio cuneovirgata (dwarf kuhli, maybe all 10 have the bioload of 5 reg sized kuhlis), 6 pangio semicincta with some snails and shrimp. I also have 5 pangio oblonga in QT to be added.
For months I haven't been able to make my mind up...
