I dont think I want to add more white skirts as I dont really like them as is, mostly because of the nipping makes me afraid to add anything I really want in there. I would hate to add more and make it even worse.

Yea I have one in there now, still waiting on the 2nd. The flow on the opposite side of the tank is VERY low. I do have a check valve on the one. Will have to order a 2nd one.

So I just acquired a 55 gallon tank with no hood/light. I plan to do some beginner plants in it. Mostly java fern at first, but I would like a light that would let me expand to some medium difficulty plants. Any Ideas on a light that is not super expensive?

For now I just pulled water out of my 20g tank for the small one. I have no idea how you would keep the water “cycled” in a filter less tank though. Not sure when I will be able to get ahold of another tank.
