    Angel Tankmates

Im looking to add fish to my 75 gallon tank. Right now I have 10 gold pristella tetras and six marbled hatchets. Im looking to add some more fish and thought a pair of angels would make a good centerpeice fish. Im also looking to possibly add one or two bristle nose plecs. My main concern...

    75 gallon tankmates

I just got my 75 gallon up and running and am looking for some advice on stocking. Currently I just added a school of 10 gold pristella tetras and likely to add more to maybe 15. I also want to add a school of about 10 marbled hatchets (which would have been added today but of course they got...

    restocking my aquarium

I dont see anywhere where i can contol the flow of water through the filter. Its a penguin biowheel 350 if anyone has one and knows how to adjust it. My 20 gallon filter on a different aquarium has a control knob on it but this one does not.

    restocking my aquarium

I have the penguine biowheel 300 (the one up to 70 gal). The problem is is that the filter takes up one hole side and puts out a pretty good current. Is there anyway I can slow the flow on the filter or would floating plants near the filter slow the current coming off the filter?

    restocking my aquarium

I recently moved my 20 gallon tank into my 60 gallon hexagon tank and I am working on my plan to restock. Since the aquarium is more tall than long I want to have fish that will swim on each level. My plan is as follows: Top - a school of marble hatchetfish (probably a school of 7 since the...

    Is polystyrene aquarium safe?

I found a background made for terrariums made of polystyrene. I was wondering if this would be safe to use in an aquarium setting? At most half would be covered in water because I want to set up a water/land system. If this is not aquarium safe does anyone have any other 3D background sites?

    Killer platy???

I've actually had the problem of going over three platys at a time. Once I get over 3 platys the male and one other female in particular (the only male all others have been female) gets overly aggressive and then ends up killing off the fish to make the number three again. Its happened twice...

Betta together with a Red Claw Crab

I kept a red clawed crab along with a dwarf puffer and platys (with a divider in the tank and the crab crossed to both sides) and I had no aggression problems either way. I even saw the fish grabbing food out of the claws of the crab and nothing. Make sure you tank is covered good because I...

    Success with Bio-Spira

I had no problem using Bio-Spira. I even used the smaller freshwater package for a 55 gallon brackish tank and had no problems at all. I just added the fish and the package and thats all.

    Aggressive Platys

here is a link to the video . The yellow one is the one that is being picked on but here in the video really turned into the aggressor.

    Aggressive Platys

Its a 20 gallon but is divided (a little over half to the platys) because of my dwarf puffer. There is also a red clawed crab in the tank (when not living in my filter) and a borneo sucker. So I just captured a video of my 2 female platys fighting. The aggression seems to be getting worse...

    Aggressive Platys

I've read that platys should be kept in the ratio of like 3 females to 1 male but for some reason if I go over a group of 3 platys they all pick one and attack it. The first time I thought it was because the males were being competitive and the weaker one was eventually picked on till it died...

    Krib question

Well its been 2 weeks now so I thought I'd give you an update. I ended up losing one of the krib after about 1 week mainly due to the two males fighting and then my other fish picking on the weakened fish. The other however is still doing great even swiming right up to the puffer with no...

    Krib question

Well so far everything seems to be going fine after the first few days. The krib and other fish have seemed to settle in and are now less agressive towards each other. More and more I think I have 2 male krib but am still not for sure. I may try to post some pictures in the next few days for...

    Krib question

Well I got my 2 kribs today (I think a male and female but not sure) and after 2-3 hrs of acclimating they are now in the tank. The puffer doesnt really seem to mind the 2 new fish only looking at them once or twice but the marbled goby is a different story. He basically follows them around...

    Krib question

Well I saw the kribs and I had to have them. I could put them in my 20 gallon freshwater tank but I'd probably have more problems with them in that tank than the brackish tank. Plus the brackish tank only has 2 fish and could use more stocking. Im also not that big of a fan of the scats or...

    Krib question

The tank is a 55 gallon hex so its more tall than long. The puffer is about 2in head to tail and mainly stays in the top 2/3's of the tank unless looking for food. There is also a marbled goby in the tank which stays on the bottom of the tank. So far the two have got along great with no problems.

    Krib question

I really dont wanna sound like Im correcting everything you say because I'm far from an expert but in doin my research almost every site I find says krib come from light brackish waters but can be kept in either condition. As for other fish being kept with figure 8's I'd have to disagree...
