2 Male German Blue Rams. Question about weird behavior.

So a week ago, I got a pair of German Blue Rams from a LFS. The staff adviced me to get two males because I was not intending to breed them. He said as long as my tank has enough space, the two males will mark their own territory and flash/ram at each other once in a while. However, it has...

Stocking ideas for 33g corner tank

Need stocking ideas for a custom 33 gallon corner tank! I am thinking of a red center piece fish to complement the dragon stones. Please share your ideas! *please excuse the upside down pictures, seems to be the server’s problem as the raw file is perfectly fine.

    L-shaped aquarium

Yup, you’re correct (214cm x 15cm). It is indeed, a weird aquarium shape. Do you think the filtration system will have trouble circulating new water to the short side (15cm side)?

    L-shaped aquarium

I am currently working on a L-shaped tank and need help on how to filtrate the system. I have planned out where I will be putting the input and output (in the picture below). My main worry is: Will this system have trouble circulating “new and clean” water into the short 6” side where the...

Will this filtration setup work regarding water circulation?

Will I get any deadspots with this setup? I am unable to the put the inlet or outlet on the short side (far right) as I would be unable to hide the canister hoses/tubes.

Where do I put the filter intake and outflow in a corner tank like this?

Where do I put the filter intake and outflow to avoid any deadspots?

Do I have a deadspot under my spray bar?

Thank you! Do you think a powerhead will be of any danger to shrimps? Would a skimmer be more suitable for my setup as I am only looking for a current that will push water to the right side of the spray bar. Once the water passes the spray bar, it should have no problem flowing to the intake...

Do I have a deadspot under my spray bar?

Sorry I can’t get a good picture of my setup due to the tank length. In the picture I’m running a 20” spray bar but I have recently removed a section so it is only about a foot long. I decreased the length of the spray bar hoping to decrease co2 loss due to surface agitation. Should I revert...

Do I have a deadspot under my spray bar?

I am currently running a custom river tank with dimensions of 72’x6’x8’, a long and narrow tank. The canister filter intake is on the right side of the tank while the outflow is on the left side, distributed by a 1 ft spray bar. Due to the design of the tank, it is impossible to place the...

Benefits of dosing liquid carbon along with pressurized co2

I’ve recently invested in a pressurized co2 system but I still have a big bottle of liquid carbon left. Is there any benefits of dosing liquid carbon along with pressurized carbon? Or can I throw away the liquid carbon?

Spraybar vs CO2 Loss vs Oxygen Levels

Just ordered a pressurized system, will arrive in a week. Once the pressurized co2 is installed, will there be a lack of oxygen with the spray bar facing the tank wall?

Spraybar vs CO2 Loss vs Oxygen Levels

A friend of mines told me that placing a spray bar above the water will result in loss of CO2 levels. However, my setup only allows me to place the spray bar above the water line, so I rotated the water outflow so that it hits the tank wall before entering the water. The results seems fine but...

Need help identifying and sexing gourami.

So after more research, my gourami might not be a honey gourami after all. I think it is a Red Rubin Thick Lipped gourami which is often mistaken as Red Honey Gouramis.

Need help identifying and sexing gourami.

Heres another angle of the fins. No way a female would have a dorsal fin that sharp, right? Would you consider my HG to have “vibrant colors”?

Need help identifying and sexing gourami.

My LFS let me pick and net the fish myself. There were probably a 100 honey gourami in there so it was hard pinpointing one. I did notice some that were clearly “fatter” height wise, which were probably female. I knew about the sharp anal and dorsal fin, but all the gourami had rounded anal fin...

Need help identifying and sexing gourami.

That was why I wasn’t so sure if it was a male, sharp dorsal fin, but round anal fin.

Need help identifying and sexing gourami.

Is it a honey gourami? I live in a foreign country where fish are sold in their local name. Hopefully it is not a dwarf gourami. Judging from it’s size, it should be a honey gourami right?

How should I filter a long narrow tank?

Sounds great! What fish did you house in there?

How should I filter a long narrow tank?

It will be placed along the back wall of the tank, not the side. Hahaha, I see why you’re confused now. Do you think it will work?

How should I filter a long narrow tank?

The spray bar will be 20 inches long but placed on the opposite side of the intake. I’m hoping the long spray bar length will distribute the water more evenly, resulting in a weaker current, suitable for the betta. Not sure if it will work though as I haven’t setup the tank yet.

How should I filter a long narrow tank?

I’m currently building a fish tank that will have a weird dime sion, 71 inches long, 6 inches wide, 8 inches tall. As you can tell from the dimensions, the tank will have a long and narrow shape, also shallow. I’ll be housing a betta, a school of corys, snails, shrimps, and maybe some rasboras...
