Though I do agree with the previous replies, it is also possible your minnow just wants friends so-to-say. minnows are schooling fish and you generally need at least two, if not three together for them to be happy. However, the way you described it, it seems as though they’re just stressed :-/

From the research i’ve done, it seems your salamander may actually be more likely to eat the fish lol. If I were you, i’d try to figure out what kind of fish he is and see how aggressive they are/how big they grow to be because that will likely be helpful. Also, how old is the salamander? Will...
