    Blackboard algae

    I'm currently cycling a new tank. 60 gallon. I put a piece of spider wood in and after 3 weeks it started growing blackbeard algae. I took the piece out and sprayed it with 3% hydrogen peroxide.     My son (age 11) has really gotten into fish keeping. He has a 10 gallon Betta tank and we are in the process of setting him up a 60gallon. I help with feeding and maintaining, but they are his fish. Just wanting to say hi and hopefully get some great advice for his fish. ?
