    Pyramid snails?

Hello guys, haven't been here in a while, been so busy. Anyways, since i upgraded to my 55gal 6 months ago, i noticed these "baby" snails on my glass and rocks. Never really paid much attention, but sometimes i noticed alot of them spread all over the tank. Well after looking at Xtalreef i think...

    Ich Myth...

I have been keeping my water super prestine and everything perfect to avoid stressing my fish, specially my blue hippo tang. I have had the tang for almost 2 full months and the LFS i purchase my RO water from said i can cut back now because the ICH cycle is 6 weeks and as long as i don;t add...

I have no idea how much light i have, but i know its not much, whatever came with the tank itself. I never bothered with the light because i want fish only for now

    Mushrooms on my rock.

I saw something the other day that drew my attention, like 5 or 6 little mushrooms, maybe the size of a pencil's eraser each. This were kind of what they looked like: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=653 My question is, i have a simple FOWLR tank with simple, will...

    Beginner Aquarium Help

The clowns would be a great start. Not really aggresive and real great fish. The Dwarf angel is a little touchy subject. Most dwarf angels will be at least 4' when adult, or more. The one i had Pygmy Angelfish This pigmy will go up to 3'. And they usually come very small, unlike others Dwarfs...

    should i even bother?

Fijiwigi nailed it, the lenght is fine, i have about 34' to work with, but the width is only 11'. Plus i don't want to squeeze anything in and stress the stand.

    should i even bother?

I was getting ready to make a diy 20gal long sump for my 55gal, but there is no way the tank will fit in the cabinet. I don;t want to leave out because it would be an eye sore and a pain in the ***. After measuring everything i can easily fit a 10gal, maybe even 15gal tall. But that means that...

    Beginner Aquarium Help

Welcome, if you cycle you tank correctly and have plenty of lr, and maybe a skimmer you can have a healthy tank with lots of life. I started with a 29gal, had about 70lbs of fiji lr but no skimmer, over a period of 1 year i slowly worked my self to this list: 2 True percs(mated pair) 1 6-Line...

    Killer Damsels

Thats great, They can be very mean. Did you buy a mated pair? If not were they the same size, or one was bigger than the other? Before getting more fish, i would really advise you to get more live rock, or even some base rock, which eventually will become live. you have around...

    Killer Damsels

First of all welcome, now about your issue, i guess it is safe to say that you will experience that with Damsels. If anything, you should have started with the clowns and cardinals. One way of calming the aggression is by moving your rocks around, which is what you did, that might be the reason...

    new and not so new.

Here is a pic of the tank about 2 months ago when i first set it up. there are small slopes, i guess it looks bigger in the picture, but it was the angle, i think.

    clowns

I had mine for over 1 year now and they do the same thing. Once in a while they will venture out to other parts of the tank, but they rush back to the corner after a few seconds of exploring. I guess its normal, because at my lfs most of the clowns in their show tanks hang out by their anemone...

    how many is too many??

yeah, mine get along pretty well, the camel shrimps don't move around as much at the peppers. But i might get a skunk Cleaner and stop it there. I wanted a fire, but i heard they are moody with other shrimps. By the, what is the life expectancy of shrimps??? Anyone have an idea?

    how many is too many??

Not fish, i am talking about shrimp. So far i have 3 peppermints and 3 camel. I wanted a skunk cleaner, maybe 2 of them. Would that be too many shrimp in a 55 gallon? If not, would adding a fire shimp later on be way too much?;) Lol Leo

    new and not so new.

About a month ago i picked up a LemonPeel Angel from my lfs. He was so active and ate so much everytime i dropped some flakes in the tank at the lfs. I also picked up some shrimps, 3 camel shrimps to join my 3 peppermints. The angel is doing great and eats alot. My second addition wasn't...

    some questions!!!

Haven't been around in a while, but i have a few questions. 1- i have a bak pak skimmer, and its a little noisy, will that bother the fish at all? 2- i have 2 Hydor Koralia 3 powerheads, during the day the fish don't seem to mind the water movement, but should i turn them off at night ...

    Finished the switch

Thanks, right now i am not sure what else i might add, i am waiting on the skimmer and just giving the tank a chance to settle a bit. i have 2 peppermint shrimps in there, so i may pick up 2 more in about a week, along with a skunk cleaner.
