a LFS has a 1200 gallon tank made form cynderblocks and concrete. it has 2 nurse sharks and a 5-6 foot green moray eel in it. they have lining like u discribed and have had it up and running for about 8 years with no problems. so if u think u can do it i say go for it.

will a coral branded shrimp and a starfish get along? my wife wants a blue lunka(sp?) starfish and was wondering if i could have them in there together.

i doubt a bursa,but ive heard of people keeping crosshatch or blue throat triggers in a reef setting. it will still be a risk IMO.

i got a scoop of LS from the LFS. i also bought some brine shrimp and ZOE. soaked the brine shrimp and at feeding he came out. didn't see him eat,but he came out so at least its a good sign. thx for the advice guys and gals.

ive got 2 penguin 1140 power heads going and a canister filter with just sum carbon in it for more water circulation. there also seems to be what looks like white powder covering everything.is that sand or sumthing that shouldnt be there?
