re doin the 29 gallon... criticism is needed :-)

Wow! Looks great! The Tangs still look pretty small. I'm sure you'll move them to a larger tank once they grow a bit. I just set up a 29g biocube and waiting 'patiently' for it to finish the cycle. LOL.I hope my tanks ends up looking as good as yours.

    Tragedy Strikes

Yeah. I hate losing fish. Thanks for all of the feedback. I also thought he might have darted up and hit the egg crate. I hope this doesn't happen again, he was such a fun little critter.

Interesting, that's what I was thinking as well. It was very strange.

    Tragedy Strikes

Today I came home from work to find my Orange Diamond Watchman Goby swimming in circles. I noticed that his head was red under his skin (where his brain would be and you could see a vein) so I'm not sure what happened. He could only make right turns. Well hours of him swimming and going in...

I have a xenia and it has stayed the same size for months, I guess I am pretty lucky. It still pulsates so I'll see what happens..

    How I feed Nori - with photo's

I have been folding my piece of Nori in half. Well I tried the football fold trick and my Tang comes up to it, stares at it for a minute or two, slowly moves towards it, barely picked at it and took off around the tank. LOL. He is ok with it now but it was quite hilarius to see his reaction...

    New BioCube 29

I just purchased a new BioCube 29 gallon! I have added live rock and waiting for it to cycle. I have been researching a lot and wanted some advice. I would like to stock my tank with the following fish: 2 O. Clowns 1 Bicolor Blenny 1 Sixline Wrasse Does this sound reasonable and can anyone...

What made you want a REEF aquarium?

My parents took me and my 2 brothers to Florida when I was 4 years old. My father said he had to run after me as I was running straight into the ocean. That was the first indication that I loved water. The second is when I caught my first fish.. I kissed it. Yes. I kissed it. Well my parents...

    Need Help Asap!!!

I have a Yello Tang (about 3") in a 75 gallon. I know that he will get too big and I will have to move him to a bigger tank. I purchased a Potter's Angel and when I put him in the tank..my Tang went nuts chasing him, slapping him with his tail just like yours did. I turned the lights off for a...

    what do I do?

Saltwater tanks aren't as scary as everyone claims. The key is to check your water parameters regularly and perform maintenance when needed. This forum is very good to ask for advice, everyone will chip in and help.

    Foxface went blind

Have you tried putting a little Garlic Gaurd in there? Alot of times it entices them to feed. I believe you can put 1 or 2 drops right in your tank. Wait a couple of minutes and then put the seaweed in there. If you Foxface is not afraid of you, you can get a cube of frozen mysis. Let it sit...

2 clows fighing. Remove which one?

I believe they can be a different breed but someone may chime in and tell us different. Yeah, when I purchased my 2 clowns, they were not mated pairs so I got a large and a small one. They get along great and I'll tell you they are one of my favorite fish.

2 clows fighing. Remove which one?

That is weird that everyone wants to kill him even cleaner shrimp. LOL. If you get another one, get one smaller or larger than the agressive one. The larger one will turn into the female and the smaller fish will be the male. It might take them a couple of days to get aquainted with each...

    Potter's Angel

That is what is bizarre. My Potter's is not shy at all. He will come to the front of the glass and he plays with my Yellow Tang (weird I know). The only difference in him now is his washed out color. Is that from Ich or is that from the heat going up too much? Does it mean something else? His...

    Recommendations on wrasse & goby?

I have an Orange Diamond Watchman Goby and I absolutely love him. He does sift sand but I feed him mysis everyday (sometimes twice a day or he gets really skinny) and a peeled shrimp about once a week. He comes to the front of the tank when I walk in the room and he is a complete show off to...

    Potter's Angel

They are all at least 8" in diameter so placing them in the tank and rearranging must have stressed them. That's what I was told anyway by a couple of people but I am a complete newbie and just started adding corals. I got a GREAT deal on all of them. If it helps I added a Torch, Hammer, 2...

    powder blue tang

I purchased a Yellow Tang that would not eat as well. I mixed garlic with frozen mysis. The once picky Tang turned into a shark. It was an absolute feeding frenzy. Now my Tang will eat anything I put in the tank.

    Orange spotted goby

Mine eats just about any meaty foods that come his way (mysis, brine, squid). ****, he'll even eat minced up cocktail shrimp. When I first got him he wouldn't touch prepared food at all. After a few days I used garlic and he hasn't stopped eating since.

    Potter's Angel

I have a 75 gallon that has been up and running for several months now. All the fish were doing great until I brought home about 6 soft corals and LPS (I couldn't resist the deal). Well I have always heard just toss the corals in but the thought never crossed my mind that I might stress my fish...

    Moving

I started off with damsels and returned them quickly. Although they are nice looking fish, they tend to be aggressive. I had the tough decision of what fish to stock in my tank. Right now I have 1 Yellow Tang, 1 Orange Diamond Watchman Goby, 2 Pajama Cardinals, 1 Bangai Cardinal, 2 Firefish, 2...
