    Mini Refugium

Well I had some spare space in my sump that I decided to make a mini refugium. Its only 16 x 6 x 10. I think it came out pretty good considering its not that big. Im not really sure if the fuge section needs to be huge. I only intend on keeping macro and pods so I will see how it goes. Here are...

    Refugium Area and Size

I am trying to manage my sump space and was considering adding a little fuge to it. My question is how big of an area do you need for just the fuge space (sandbed, macroalgae)? Do you need a lot of room for the macroalgae? I have about 16inches long, 10 inches high and 6 inches wide of space...

    Proper water changin?

I use (2) 45 gallon brute garbage containers on wheels. I fill one garbage container with RO/DI water and then add the salt. With in the garbage container is a thermometer and power head. If your nitrates are spiking I would cut back on the feedings. Feed only every 2 some times every 3 days. That should help a little.

Yellow Eyed Kole Tang Sick Maybe?

Can you post some pictures. If it looks like there are grains of salt all over his body it may be white spot disease (ich) if that is the case then you may want to QT to prevent any of the other fish from getting sick. What are your water parameters? How new is he?

Acclimating Corals and Fish to new lights

I just purchased the coralife aqualight pro metal halide fixture. It has 3 250 watt MH and 4 96 Watt Actinics. My question is how should I acclimate the fish and corals to the new lights? How long should they be on and how should I progressively increase the length they should be on? Thanks

    Top/Lid for my tank

Thank you!!! I appreciated your comments and help. I am not worrying about top off as much as I am concerned that the glass top will diffuse alot of the light and I have some jumpers so I dont know if the crate will be heavy enough especially with my big snowflake eel. What do you think?

I just purchased the coralife aqualight pro metal halide lighting fixture for my tank. I currently use a glass top and I do not have any issues with gas exchange/aeration. However I was wondering if the top will be an issue with the MH and if I should switch to egg crate. I have some jumpers...
