This question is actually for a friend of mine. He just got a 55 gal. that has two seperate hoods on it. When he gets fish he says he's just going to leave one hood light on and the other off ALL the time. So one side is always light and one side is always dark. Is this a good idea? I don't...

10 inches in length is the best, what you will have should not be a overload. Just remember fish grow too!!! :fadein:

I've noticed that some days my red serpae tetras are lighter than usual. Is that because they have good and bad days? I'm just getting over ich, could that be why. But even when thry look healthy they often look lighter some days.

I have one frog in a one gallon tank, and he semms happier in there than in a 10 gallon with fish!

I just use a wet paper towel. Often sometimes the mess is on the inside not outside. Use an algae scrubber to clean the inside before a water change.

I use stress coat and stress zyme. Stress Coat removes chlorine. And the strss zyme conditions.

I would say it's probably okay to add about two more fish.

My advice to you is take the carbon out of your filter, or change the filter and don't add the carbon. Usually when you first put carbon in a filter you are supposed to rinse it out because of carbon dust. This might not be your problem, but I bet it helps!!!
