    Are my zoanthids dead?

I have a small group of seven single brown zoanthids on lr. They are all closed up and 'stubby' and have been that way for several weeks now. Water perams are fine and NH3 is zero. Running skimmer and UV unit and water change every two weeks. Water temp is 79 degrees. Lighting is flourescent...

    Fast help needed!!!!

Sadly, despite our best efforts, the little guy didn't make it  Post mortem, he had a 1/4" hole in his back just above the tail and it was right into the bone. Thanks for all your advice and kind words. The urchin has now gone back to the lfs and I have another cow on order :D

    Fast help needed!!!!

woke up this morning and turned on my tank lights to find my long spined urchin had my little yellow cowfish pinned down against the side of the tank. I pulled him off to find that he had taken a great chunk out of the back of the cow and the fish is still alive!! What can I do? Is it better to...

    Question about Ich

Just a thought  Could I move my inverts to the qt tank and then hypo the main display? Wondering?? :?

    Question about Ich

This is a little impractical for me...space...cashflow...you understand?! Only have a small 10g qt tank so would be a bit pushed for space. Any other ways? PS. Do I have to qt my inverts at all or will they be ok?

    Long spined Urchin

I have a long spined urchin http://www.aquariumadvice.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1547&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 Last night I was watching him shift over the glass and all of a sudden he started to squirt out tons of white stuff from about four or five places on his upper shell around...

Not sure what this is on the LR

If you have room for one, try a falcula butterfly. I had a BIG problem with aptasia (over fifty of them) and in two days the fish had eaten the lot!! Not had a single one since.... :D

    Question about Ich

Two of my fish, Falcula Butterfly and Yellow Cowfish have the Ich and need treatment. All my other fish and inverts are fine at the moment. For obvious reasons I cannot treat the main display with copper..... My question is, can I lower the salinity levels in the main tank safely for 4-6 weeks...

This is just the kinda noise I have been hearing in my tank too. Do I have a mantis or pistol shrimp? Only seem to hear the popping noise in the evening or after lights out though and have never spotted anything at all. Have over 150lbs of lr and dont much fancy searching through all of that to...

    Red Sea Prizm skimmer

I run a Red Sea Prism in my 55g tank and have no complaints at all. I agree that they are expensive but IMO worth every penny :D

    hermit crabs or snail?

I believe it is said that blue legged hermits eat cyano... I had a recent outbreak of cyano and tried to get hold of a bunch of these guys to help, however my lfs couldn't get any so I have resorted to the more traditional 'suck, syphon' and reduced temp tank temp and it seems to be working!!!

I Know, Everyone has Algae Problems, but...

Sounds like a bad case of the dreaded cyano to me  I have a problem with the stuff for about 2 months now. Mine started just like yours at first, covering just about everything and multipying to monstrous proportions, forming filaments/strands and everything. I do have a skimmer (Red Sea...

    Tang with ICK!!

Try leaving the net in the tank so he kinda gets used to it being part of the scenery, then drop in some food and when he's preoccupied with the grub, try and nab him. Other than that you could try using a friend with another net and try the 'scissor' approach. Good Luck Stu :D

Yellow tail Pygmy and tank in trouble

Yeah I did mean your quarantine tank (qt), sorry for the confusion. This is a method I favour as it still kills the parasites but is much less stressful to the fish. I dont actually have a filter either in my quarantine tank, just a heater, air stone and plenty of live sand with a...
