Hi awesome reef tank! What type of lighting are you running?

The tanks are on shelves so I may look into getting 36" T5 fixtures to mount under each shelf. Oh well at least it was only an $10 loss. Maybe I will use the lights as a night light for the fish room so they are not in total darkness every night.

ok, well I bought the six foot rope light above and mounting clips. cost about $10. mounted the rope light on a shelf about 6" above the tank. plugged it in...and failure..hardly any light in the tank even made a reflector out of aluminum. If they were blue may make ok moonlights. back to the...

They do build nice tanks but some are to outrageous. Its a rip off to these customers I'm sure they pay a ton of money for them to build the tank and stock it. Like many LFS they probably only offer a week or so warranty on the fish. I wonder what the return policy is on the tanks like the phone...

I'm from the Doylestown, PA Area. I have been to the hidden reef and fish factory. Both seem to have elevated prices but there coral selection is very good. Another good place is The Pet Shack in Hatfield, PA prices are pretty good.

My fish room is a work in progress also. Waiting for the petco sale to fill my rack up :) Will post pics when I have the tanks. Just got done adding 2 new outlets for all the filters, heaters, and lights.

Yeah, it is the same unit I have. Works fairly well only thing I noticed is now it drips slowly from the seal after I opened it to replace the DI resin in it. I am going to upgrade mine to a canister type since the canister one is a little larger. Make sure you also bought the clips to hold it...

Agree on the DI Canister. My water is crappy coming into my RO unit (around 300 TDS) and after a few months I am putting out about 24 TDS. As soon as I change my DI filter it goes back down to 0 TDS.. So yes a DI canister will help you very much. I am going to get a better one in the April bulk...

Pretty good episode. Glad they did a freshwater tank but the fish looked like roaches with the fake food in the refridgerator tank. Still nice malawi cichlids. Also noticed they mentioned they use cycled water and properly aclimating fish. Tell me those sharks weren't stressed though..

How are your phosphates? Do you use ro/di water or just tap water for your water changes and top offs? That is true that the water has to pass through the bulb in the sterilizer so if the algae is not floating in the water it won't help much.

My tank water became greenish algae color in my 55g cichlid tank so I bought a 9W UV Sterilizer from petsmart for $50. Took about a week but the water is crystal clean now. They have a 24w one rated for up to 100g for $80. My readings were all where they should be and I did a 50% water change...

According to my research on liveaquaria glofish need a minimum of 1 gallon tank. And bettas have been kept for years in small portable fish tanks. Sorry if I gave any information which was not accurate.

neon tetras or glofish can be kept in the tank. A Betta is also good too.
