i would use a quarter dose of melafix for a week. then at least a 25% water change every or every other week. i don't personally think your tank is over crowded more like it didnt cycle properly.

yes it is a Columbine shark. i was told when they mature that salt is needed because they go nuts inside your tank when they want to spawn and to calm him down just add some salt. so he wont start swimming around all crazy if i don't add salt. the person that told me that was a reliable source...

can you use a dyed sand or does it have to be normal sand. can you have a planted tank with gravel. and 30 watts of light is not sufficiant for a 55 gallon planted tank correct. what kind of lights would i have to get. i was told mecury vapor? was i told correctly. Thanks, fished
