    Anemone into a creavice!

I'm a newbie with anemones too. I just got through reading that they sometimes behave that way before splitting. I would not attempt to move it as it will come back out on it's own in time. Here's a good site to visit when you have anemone questions........what to do when they spilt...

    Frogfish in 29Gal/ frag

I kept a frogfish in a 29 gallon for 6 months and he did just fine. I just recently moved him into his new home, a 55 gallon. Just be sure there are no tankmates with him and that you only feed him 3 to 4 times a week. A good skimmer is also a good idea and regular water changes......HTH...

    Yellow Tang Diet

My daughter has a yellow tank that eats the dried nori and some of the chaetomorpha algae she keeps in her main tank. It also eats frozen PE mysis. It's mainstay is the algae but it needs daily protein too for a balanced diet.

    bicolor dottyback vs. yellowtail damsel...

In my experience, yellow-tailed damsels are pretty passive compared to other types and should not be housed with aggressive tankmates.......

    jawfish compatibilit

Personally, I'd remove the damsel if you like the jawfish and want him to get established......they do best with more passive tankmates and are prone to jump out of uncovered tanks. You probably already know he needs a deep sandbed (3 + inches minimum) and lots of building materials to...

    cleaner shrimp

I have an 18" long pair of hemostats that I use for feeding corals, my pair of fire shrimp, and my sally lightfoot crab. Mine must be spoiled because I feed them a piece of krill or silverside every day:) They come right up to the hemostats and wait for me to release it into their little...

    Bleaching Decorations

In the past when I have had to bleach a saltwater decoration I always add Prime (declorinator) to the rinse water. It's an easy way to assure there is no trace of bleach left before returning item to tank. Just use a couple of capfuls to a small bucket of rinse water. Let the bleached items...

    majano anemone?

My friend has a bi-color angel in her tank.......he keeps all the mojano anemones at bay by eating them......there are none in her main tank now....just in the sump. Don't know how big your tank is but that might be a solution for you.

    Skilter 250 Modifications

It's been a while since a had a Skilter but I quieted mine down by simply adding a wooden airstone on a piece of air line tubing to the cylinder that produces foam. I unhooked the venturi hose that came with the Skilter and removed it. You can lift that center tube up off the base, shove the...

    Blue Damsel Behavior Question

This question is for my daughter who has a 75 gallon reef tank. She has 4 oranged tailed (male?) blue damsels in the tank. They are healthy and eating fine. One in particular has been going down to the sandbed and stirring it up with his tale/body. He is wallowing in it and making scooped out...

    any tips on glueing

I put a little superglue gel on the rock and then place the coral frag on top of the gel. I then immediately dunk the frag into the water. The water sets the glue upon contact. If you leave the rock and frag out of the water very long the glue will burn your coral.....dunking them into the...

    CustomSeaLife PowerCompact/Moonlight

I've got the same lights on my 75 gallon reef. I took off the glass tops and put the stilts on my light fixture. It is better for exchange of gases to have the tops off I am told. I lose about 3/4 gallon of water a day to evaporation.....not that much. I love my lights! I know you will...

Kick-Ich or Malachite Green - good for Crypt (w/corals)?

I used Kick Ick in my 75 gallon for the full treatment and it did nothing.....except raise my nitrates to over 100! I ended up breaking my reef down and treating the fish with Cupramine in a hospital tank. Don't waste your money.......
