ok so at my local pet store they always have sliced cucumbers in their tanks for fish to nibble on...so i put one in my tank and now i am wondering wat its for like do they like it? is it added nutrients or something? and will it hurt my tank at all?

ok so i know that the cycling process says to add ammonia to your tank to get the cycle going. well iv asked a load of different pet store people and they say use stress zyme because ammonia is bad and stress zyme will work better....so should i use ammonia or stress zyme??
