Just picked up some of this uncommon plant at a local auction, and am wondering if anyone here has had any personal experience with it.

Since I was on last, I have added a few more Microctenopoma ansorgii, two baby Polypterus endlicheri endlicheri, some Corydoras loxozonus, Corydoras loretoensis, and a new juvenile Protopterus dolloi (see pic).

Just added two of these beasties (they are huge ar 10cm each) to one of my tanks....Pomacea maculata.

OK, its not hardware or equipment, but we have no 'fluids/chemicals' forum. :P So my question is...has anyone used "Atison's Betta Spa" additive, and how did they find it to be? I have ordered a couple of bottles to give it a try, but am interested in the experience of others as well.

I have a number of these, new and sealed. They are a good beginner's guide to fish, and have lots of photos, etc. They are a couple of years old, but still current. If you are interested, they are $5 each, plus shipping (likely $7 to anywhere in the US and most places worldwide)...

Well, summer is here and with it the bugs...each year many people keep those bugs at bay in their homes using hanging "No Pest" strips by Vapona. These strips work by a steady release of dichlorvos into the air....this chemical poison has the unfortunate habit of binding to water...and is toxic...

Thanks to a local chap, I am now the proud owner of a pair of bouncing juvenile Spanish ribbed newts, which are happily settling in their new heavily-planted 10 gallon tank. Hopefully I will have some pics soon, but here are some pics (not mine, obviously) to tide you over: What they look like...

I was feeding the giant African land snails this evening and discovered about 8 white-ivory eggs (about the size of large jellybeans) buried in the substrate....should be interesting to see them hatch, as the hatchlings are surprisingly large.

As these things tend to happen, I got so busy with so much that my ability to spend almost any appreciable time online was severely curtailed...but I now find myself with a few semi-spare hours and have decided to tackle my backlog here (15,000 new messages!) and try to get myself somewhat current.

This week, thanks to a few fellow aquarists, I am now (for a paltry sum of $10 total) up an AquaClear 300, AquaClear 150, and AquaClear mini....all in excellent condition (albeit used), and only the 300 is missing a lid, something I know I can easily track down for cheap. Now to find some tanks...
