    WTS 75 gallon saltwater aquarium

Howdy, I just got an internship this fall in Washington, D.C. and I will not be able to take my saltwater tank with me. I am giving away the fish to good homes and I am selling the tank. The tank is very healthy and has been running now for about 2 years. The fish are all that old as well...

    Hanging a metal halide pendant...

So I went ahead and purchased this system for my 20g long mini reef. http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12 So far I am very impressed with the system. The additional heat put into my aquarium is minimal (.2 degrees) with the lights on the mounting legs, however...

Ugrading lighting for my 20g reef...

Howdy! I'm moving the PC lighting fixture on my 20g reef tank to my 75g fish only tank and getting new lighting. I was curious on what you guys think of this setup? http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=185

    Water changes with hypo treatment...

How often should I change the water in my tank while doing hyposalinity treatment. I have been making daily trips to the LFS, and I'm getting really annoyed with them telling me that my fish are going to die with my salinity level at 1.009. (I'm using their refractometer.) Also, anyone know...

    Heating question.

Well, I just moved my tank from my bedroom to my living room and all is going well (small cycle going on after draining all the water, moving the tank, and refilling) but before I move my fish back into it, I had a heating question. In my bedroom with my computer and other various electronics...

    Triggers and Inverts

I can move all my inverts into my minireef except my huge brittle star. I've heard different things on different boards about the brittles and wanted to know if anyone has any experience keeping a brittle and a trigger.

    Triggers and Inverts

I have 3 starfish, a few snails, and a few hermits in my display tank. Would any of these guys be safe with a trigger (I like the Humu humus)?

    Clown behaving strangely...

Not sure if anyone remembers my tank crashing overnight 6 months back. Long story short, my Boxfish released Ostratoxin in the tank and I lost my Blond Naso Tang, Boxfish, Angler, Yellow Tang, and Yellow Eye Tang. Long story short, when I got up that morning, my GS Marroon Clown was clinging to...

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Sorry I wasn't specific enough. When I went to bed that night everything was fine. My Naso was a perfectly normal grey. When I got up the next morning and he was dead, he had black splotches on it, which I had heard was a sign of external poisoning (which is why i mentioned it).

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Update: My clown fish has successfully made it through two nights in his QT. He's eating just fine and not showing any signs of stress, so I think he's going to be OK. As far as water quality issues in the past, the only issues I've had were nitrates, but after purchasing some nitra sponge and...

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Yeah, that's the only thing I can come up with, that or something startled him and he did it. All the dead fish were around him, and my clown is in love with powerhead on the other side of the tank so the toxin might not have made it up there yet. *sigh*

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

I have a skimmer, I have to empty it about every three days. This morning was the first time I've ever noticed the bubbles. I added a hermits about 3 weeks ago, but no other fish since the Yellow Tang and Yellow-eye Tang. Oh, I have 90lbs of this rock. The fish showed no signs of stress last...

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Tank has been running since last October. Temp is at 75 deg. I feed them twice a day and they ate greedily as usual last night. The Tangs didn't mess with each other because the Yellow Tang tried to step up to the Naso Tang when I first added the Yellow and Yellow Eye Tang (about 3 months ago)...

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Sorry, ammonia was less than .25. I'm a senior in college. I've been doing higher math for too long to know the difference between "greater than" and "less than." Coloring of the drop test was somewhere between 0 and .25. No clogs anywhere. I have a built in sump on the back of my tank and water...

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Update: I've just noticed that there is a small collection of bubbles around the edges of the tank at the top of the water. I've never seen this before. Could that be an indication of what the problem is?

    HELP! Tank crashed over night...

Went to bed at 2:00 AM this morning and my tank was great. Got up this morning at 8:00 AM and every fish in my tank except my GS Maroon Clown was dead. I've had this group of fish for about 6 months no problem. I ran to the fish store and got 5 gallons of their water and set up my QT and got my...

    A sad day...

Both the Radiata and the Frogfish made it through the night! They're eating and the color has come back to the Radiata. Taking it very slow though... just a few small rosies last night, but this morning the Frogfish ate a good size Silverside. Neither had ever been weened to frozen, so it was a...

    A sad day...

Today was a very sad day for me. My ex-girlfriend, who bought me my aquarium has gone totally off the deepend. She didn't feed any of her fish for over a week (according to her brother) and told her brother she paid the power bill. She lied... He called me this morning and told me that the power...

    Gonapora question.... Updated Pictures

Nope, a dieing Flower Pot doesn't fall apart like that. I know from first hand experience. It definately doesn't look happy, but from what it looks like, it's spawning. However, the success rate of growing a baby FP is even lower than a full grown one. Who knows though, you may be the one to...
