I read on the Internet that if you take a live rock, put it in a glass jar and put it in the windowsill, you can grow natural algae for your tangs. Anybody know if this true? I would rather not have algae all over my tank. But one rock would be OK.

It's received Hanna regents in the foil packs. Curvette cleaning solution soaked the packs which were still inside their box. I can smell on the outside if the packs. Do you think the foil protected the regents? I would hate to have to throw these away.

Is there really any difference between salt mixes? I've used InstantOcean and RedSea. I liked the texture of the RedSea better. Currently I'm using the RedSea Coral Pro Salt. Need to order more salt though and really not sure which one I should really be using since I have both reef and FOWLR...

Has anyone ever used Loctite repair putty to secure plugs or corals to live rock? It says it's for plumbing, drains and marine. It contains epoxy resin, amine resin and polymercaptan.
