    Purple Linckia Star

I recently added a Purple Linckia Star (or so I'm told that's what it is, so who knows). I have noticed from time to time the end of a tentacle will bulb up, then later will be back to normal. The below picture is what I just saw, and I'm not sure if it's waste, or if it's trying to spawn...

    Refugium setup questions

I just upgraded from a wet/dry to a refugium. Without being entirely sure how to set it up (or even if my terminology is correct), I tried to go by the way the LFS had one set up. The end result is the attached pic. Other than a bigger sponge (I tried to cut up my old one... Good thing I'm not a...

    Ick?

A few days ago, I introduced a new blue tilefish (I know they're tough, but he is cool enough to take a chance) and a coral beauty to my tank. Both looked primo w/ no signs of health issues. Unfortunately, my flame angel started picking on the coral beauty w/in the first hour of introducing him...

    Anemone troube

My green bulb anemone managed to get behind my live rock and appears to be stuck on the water intake slits (see picture). I've tried removing him from it but I'm afraid to use too much force in attempting to help. Any suggestions, or will he be able to get out of there when he decides to? Thanks...

    Nitrate problem

I set up my tank about 3 months ago and everything looks great. But unfortunately, I still haven't been able to get my nitrate down. I've got a 65 pd block of Tonga show branch rock and I've had a couple fish die that I haven't been able to find because they are probably in there somewhere. My...

    New tank feedback

I'm now on day 18 with my 72 gal. bowfront tank. NH3 and NO2 have been stable at 0 for about 5 days now, but I grew a ton of diatoms in the cycling process. I'm guessing because I used tap water for the initial set-up (oops). I added a few fish to make it a little more attractive since NH3...

    Strange Cycling...

Hey everyone. About a week ago, I got a 72gal. reef ready. Got it ready with about 55 pds of live rock including a mammoth (and very fresh) 45 pd show branch rock (I think that's what they called it). Then dumped 8 damsels in it. About half died within a couple days, and I left some of them in...
