    Need worm identification

That's what my guess was too. I also went up to my lfs they said the same thing. So harmless bristleworm? Thank you for all the input.

Also you can't see very well in the picture but it has two tentacles on the head and small spines along the side.

    Need worm identification

I found this little guy in my aquarium tonight and was wording what it was. I don't mind it in there as long as it isn't harmful. It also has a red pulsating line going through its head. Please help. Thanks!

    Updated 50 Gallon

Yes they are all rocks. They are all untreated slate stepping stones from home depot. I just broke some of the pieces up to stack them and make smaller pieces. You also may want to sand down the sharp pints it creates to keep your fish safe.

    Updated 50 Gallon

Well it appears you have good ideas! Ha. My tank is completely different now. The slate structure broke and is now in pieces; therefore, I put the drift wood in the middle and stacked the pieces on the side. It appears that the fish like it better this way.

    My 50 Gallon

I actually did add a blue background on it which actually brightened up the tank. I have also thought about plants which I will be adding soon. I put real plant in there which were later eaten (which I knew this would possibly happen). As for the lighting they are just florescent lights. I do...

This is a picture (not very good one) of it in my tank.

    blood red parrot cichlid???

Yes I know. The adaptation part was for rookie. I have albino red zebra cichlids, electric blue cichlids, red top cichlids, a bichir, and a red tailed shark with my labs. They are all living together great. The blood red parrots are extremely aggressive and will eventually kill your labs. Within...

    blood red parrot cichlid???

The blood reds will kill them. Also my other fish adapted to the water parameters just fine.

    blood red parrot cichlid???

I would say other african cichlids such as electric blue cichlids and zebras and most aggressive tropicals. The communities will be beaten up.

New Cichlids! Got a question about BGK

I know the JD and the Red Devils are really aggressive. I don't know much about the terrors.

New Cichlids! Got a question about BGK

Yeah. It's going good for me personally. If you introduce them all together at a young age it would be better but even adding fish together of the same species is always a coin toss.

    blood red parrot cichlid???

I have two tanks. My Africans do great with my bichir and rainbow shark. You are able to mix semi-aggressive tropical fish with Africans from my experience. My other fish had no problem acclimating to the water hardness. In my other tank my blood parrots attack everything in the tank. Within...

New Cichlids! Got a question about BGK

They should be fine. The BGK is actually an aggressive fish as well. The eel will also be fine. I have a bichir in mine and it does great and they are similar creatures. I would be more concerned with the Cory cats. They don't get bigger than 2-3"; therefore, they may become a meal later down...

    my dinosaur bichir

I don't know if it is to late, but this is very normal. They are similar to African dwarf frogs in the sense that they jolt to the top of the tank to grab some air then go back to the bottom.

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

I started when I was 15, my grandma had an angel fish tank that i would always take care of. When we moved out of state by dad decided tom get me a 10 gallon starter kit and made it a family tank. About a year after I treated myself to my own 14 gallon. About a month after that I sold the 14...

"DAP 100% silicon aquarium safe" was the full name.

    Slate caves

Thank you. I actually picked it up from home depot. They sell it at the lfs but it's to expensive. Just make sure it is uncured slate or it will be toxic. Then let it soak for a few days.

    Slate caves

I stacked them first to where it would balance by itself (in case the silicon became weak it wouldn't tumble on my fish). Then I picked each piece up one by one and glued them in their place. I did that one section at a time.

    Slate caves

Yeah the response to you earlier was the type I used which became messy because the aluminum tube broke half way through but you can also use "GE 100% silicon I" so I've heard. The DAP silicon was actually $6 oppose to $10 or $12 for the ones at the LFS. Thank you they are fun to make...

    Slate caves

Yes I did with DAP 100% silicon aquarium safe (found at home depot or lowes). Thank you very much. It took a while to make.
