I have to disagree with everyone that says a 55 is to small cause i have a large oscar in a 55 with multiple other fish. i would just advise you not to get a black convict they get very aggressive well at least the one i have is.

i second that HUKIT cause just a year ago my oscar was less than an inch long and now he is pushing 9inches. I just love how he changes moods and the colors change one min he his upset with my JD and turns coal black then the next hes a smoke grey and his orange stripes are just really bright.

I have a Black and Blue striped convict that is about 5 in long and a pair of Albino Convicts that are 4-5 in long. Just need to get rid of them cause the pet stores around here do not have the room for them. I just need them gone there tearing up my tank.
