I cant either!!

I've lost two cats within the last 2 years! One to lung cancer they think 3 years old, the other got very sick suddenly and 6 yrs old :(. It's not easy. ((hugs))

Well unlike Ryan-peddle I'm from Canada also but we've had nothing but rain wind lightening for the last couple weeks highs if only like 15 or so :(. Central bc Canada!!

Sorry to hear about the guppy :( Fortunately scarlett seems to be doing great. She is eating and swimming happily, even pooping, so everythings "working". we'll see what happens in a month when she has another batch.

do you make sure that when adding new water during PWC, you keep it the same temp going in as you took out??? I know this can cause ick to appear.

I cant be positive it was ick, but treated as if it was.... I used the heat method as per instructions, and waited 2-3 wks after all symptoms to turn heat back down.... I treated with fizz tabs as per instructions..... (after the heat method), and then I tried out of desperation the medication...

I have had pleuricy, years ago back when I was in highschool. It was VERY painfull! I was a teenager, didnt take care of myself, stayed up late, got up early, didnt eat well, smoked, ..... its not wonder I got sick.... I dont think its possible to get that from a fish tank :)

Ok I just researched velvet, and nope not it.... I also looked up gill flukes, I dont "think" thats it.... there doest appear to be anything wrong with them, besides the flashing... Some of them were breathing faster than others, but maybe they were moving quicker, i didnt sit and watch too...

you saw the worms hanging from the fish? It will eventually kill them. and spreads to all the other fish as well. I dont "pre treat" for them becuase like I said there not an easy worm to treat, the treatment I just used to "treat" them, and so far it looks like its worked is a heart wormer...

thanks all, im going to have to researched those and see what seems to fit best, they "look" completely normal, just flashing...

Good luck with your treatement phatpaul, on my most recent infestation I used interceptor and it worked great for me. Its been about a month since initial dose and not one worm seen since :)
