Temperature in tank reached 105 degrees

he got an education on it. he thought it was a little chilly and wanted to make sure the fish were warm for the night. my ammonia is back down and the nitrates and trites didnt spike. did give me a chance to do some new aquascaping :)

Temperature in tank reached 105 degrees

I love my son, but him turning the heater on the tank to 105, didnt make daddy happy. killed off everything in the tank, fortunately not a lot in there at the moment. i think my tank is cycling again. i tested and my ammonia is through the roof. guessing that the high heat killed of the...

Going to look at a 150gallon tank on Tuesday ***update**Pics

a small tip on the water. to move tank water do this: get several milk crates and a box of strong trash bags. fill the bags with the water inside a milk crate. tie off the bag and then fill another. the water will now "stack and take up a ton less room. (i move a lot and have a 90 gal) enjoy.

Greetings from a newb with a few questions. LONG

well lets chat. 1. no not really. setup well and sw can be just a seasy as anything else 2. i suggest setting up a dsb of 3 inches and then 75lbs to 100 lbs of live rock, fill with ro/di water, hook up powerheads, heater and a skimmer. then add in the shrimp form the grocery store. PLEASE...

    Running out of room

your lfs will probably buy the frags from you. saves you from trying to ship something live. other option would be a reginal forum where you could sell to someone who could meet you.

    I'm afraid of live rock!

Will this be worth the hassle? yes yes yes The mantis shrimp thing isnt as common as you might think and the "worms" more than likely are exactly what you want in your tank, bristle worms. you dont need additonal lighting for LR what you already have will be just fine. do you have a dsb now...

best filtration for 90 gal reef

yes 1.5 -2.0 lbs per gallon LR and a protien skimmer and you are set. more live rock = less trouble. your 90 gallon should have 135-180 lbs of rock. I bought a turbo floater 1000 protien skimmer for my 90 gal and would say it skims the heck out of her. enjoy.

Anyone hear the new version of Pink Floyd's The Wall ?

the scissor sisters are horrible...at least this song. wow how can you take a great song like this and just manhandle it to the point that the song isnt good anymore? wow its bad

    Open Brain Coral

yeah they do look soft at the lfs and when they close up you see the skeleton. nature is fun.

    Question on filter/skimmers

any skimmer at this point would be better. 100 percent right on the bio load you have in your tank and the nitrates on the bio wheel arent helping much. not sure what kind of water movement you have, but as posted above, you will probably want more. also, you need to be sure you are not using...

Anyone hear the new version of Pink Floyd's The Wall ?

speaking of pink floyd, there is someone out there doing "comfortably numb". its the scissor sisters (sic) and i have to listen to it at least 3 times a day at work (retail manager) still sadder is i ask they people who work for me if they have ever heard of Pink Floyd and some say no and...

I need to stay away from my tank. Finding new 'weird' things

yes the puffer and the snowflake would eat the shrimp. i am wondering if the shrimp would even make it to the bottom of the tank before digestion. :slurp: 1. ok 2. :uzi: suggest getting rid of 3. :thumb: any of the ids are okay so leave it. enjoy. LR is so much fun. :D
