Found this tiny white starfish for the first time today, it's about the quarter size of a thumbnail and not yet fully formed, this is so cool, I'm well chuffed!

Hi, Yeah cleaned it all and it's still fairly noisy..

The pump on my internal filter has suddenly humming fairly loudly since did a water change, I can't figure out why so I have ordered a new one, can the noise stress my fish????

Hey, I've just joined this thread as I'm in the UK and I'm 5 months into my first SW tank which is a 21 gallon Nano! Great hobby and so addictive!

I buy my salt and RO water from my LFS, salt always goes in the big container and the RO for top off in the little one. Today I did my PWC using the big container as usual and after did my tests to find my salinity really low, the LFS had put the water the wrong way around. Lesson learnt: never...

Get both! It can be a costly addiction but it's safe! LOL!!

There will be a spike in ammonia and nitrates. I bought my own liquid test kits and checked the water through out the cycle. Post your test results if you have them...

It's just better to cycle your tank without live fish, I took the advice on here and cycled with raw shrimp, it took 3 weeks for the complete cycle. You may not have cycled your tank yet. I kept fish for years but only salt recently but I would suggest putting your fish into a established tank...

I'm quite new to this as well, my tank is two months old and has brown algae (diatoms). As far as I know it's fairly common with new tanks and should die down in time, I just make sure my amm, nitrates, nitrites, ph and phos are good and I stick to my pwc's. I think that's all I can do to get...

I had a bad crab too, he killed one of my hermits, it took me near two months to locate and extract. Rock work doesnt look the same!

My hermits just stay on the rock - useless!! Would a watchman goby grow too big for a nano, I have heard they need 30g?
