Hey Everyone! I'm new to this and need some help IDing these hitchhikers. I'm pretty sure the three anemone looking things are aiptasia :( and I think the one below it is a bristleworm? Haven't seen him since I took this picture the other day, he may have become a midnight snack....oops! The...

    Help! Going through 2nd cycle???

Well, I got 2 new ammonia tests, an API one that does total and and a Seachem one that just does free. The total level is still a little elevated, about .5 ppm and the free reads under .25 ppm. I haven't put ammo lock in since 4/7, which seems to have helped the readings. I also did 2 15% pwc...

    Help! Going through 2nd cycle???

I don't have my log with me, but I think ammonia got to about 5ppm before it came down. Should I stop dosing with the ammo-lock? I'm starting to wonder if maybe that's giving me false ammonia readings. I was going to do a 10-15% pwc tonight and another 10-15% tomorrow. Is that ok?

    Help!!! New to SW!!!

Thanks again guys! I took jnam's advice and ordered 50# of base rock from reefcleaners and I started reading up on fishless cycling. Any suggestions on reliable places to get live rock online? I looked at one of my local stores but I'm not sure what good live rock should look like. This was kind...

    Help!!! New to SW!!!

Thanks for the response. So basically, if I want to keep my tank truly FO, I would have to go with something like Instant Reef artificial live rock for decor and rely on my canister for filtration. Would that be enough filtration? I'm only planning on having about 6 or 7 fish and eventually some...
