    Identify this fish!

My husband feeds his sinking shrimp pellets. He eats a lot before they even hit the ground, and then he hunts around the tank for more.

Help! ADF stuck in tank decor!

I have a tree thing that seemed very well "rooted" in my gravel. Went looking for an ADF and found that he was inside it. I don't think he is physically trapped or stuck... He has plenty of room to swim out of it. But I can't get him to come out. In the mean time I am stuck watching all the...

Starting Over - Ideas for Something New

Yes, I would be ok with just a couple fish in the tank. I hadn't really thought about a pair or cichlids, but it's different than anything I have done and the fire mouths are beautiful. I haven't seen any in my LFS but they can order fish. I don't know a lot about cichlids except that they can...

Whoops, just saw the rest of your comment. I like the lobsters they are pretty pricey. And I have looked into apistos, but aren't they kind of sensitive to water changes and such? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    ADF Questions

Starting a new 29 gal tank with ADFs and I have a couple questions: 1. I know from experience these guys need shallower water because they come up for air. My tank is 16 or so inches high. Anyone have ADFs in a tank this deep? I know it's not a big deal - I could always lower the water level if...

Starting Over - Ideas for Something New

Went fish shopping, and I just don't love any of the small cichlids in my area... I do have an LFS that would order some for me. I am in love with ADFs though... I may have to do another community tank. Maybe I'll try new species... It's so hard to decide! Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

I have actually considered these before... I am assuming they should not be housed with other species? And how often do they breed? I have no interest in selling fish, so I wouldn't want to have an overpopulation issue. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Starting Over - Ideas for Something New

Hello, all! I have an empty 20 gal long tank in my dining room. In the past I have had freshwater community fish, and at one point I had fiddler crabs. I am trying to find something new to do that is still simple, meaning nothing extra involved. Does anyone have any suggestions on something...

Yeah, I have read that they need to be in schooling groups. I thought it was strange that she suggested them for a 30 gal.

Anyone know anything about these fish? Apparently my LFS suggested them to my husband for my 30 gal brackish tank. I can't find any thing on the internet that says they are brackish.

    Tankmates for BB gobies

I have heard that puffers are nippers and may eat the bumblebees. It's good to see you've had success. I have also heard that nerites don't do well with any salt. What kind of flounder did you have?

    Tankmates for BB gobies

Would this process be done with a bucket and drip acclimation over the course of a few hours? Or would I need a complete set up with a filter and the whole nine yards? I have never tried to acclimate a freshwater fish to brackish...

    Tankmates for BB gobies

Thanks for the help. I have been doing some research, and right now I am considering the glass fish (I've read that Parambassis ranga are brackish) and Celebes Rainbowfish (Marosatherina ladigesi). I'm having a hard time finding the glass fish online, so I may have to go with something else. I'm...

    Tankmates for BB gobies

I have a 30 gal brackish tank (salinity at 1.008) with 6 bumblebee gobies. I would like to know if there are any other brackish fish (or fish that would handle some salt) that would not eat these little guys. I am not really a molly fan, either. Any suggestions?
