hi all im gutted i lost a bentos tetra on thursday night ,then to my horror got home from work today to find my betta on the sand barely alive it had white fluff on its eyes and one gill,strange as the night before he was feeding fine swimming around fine :(

i had trouble with my readings when i cycled ,i just stopped the water changes turned off the lights and it cycled , i got told dont water change you are just getting rid if everything you need to cycle your tank . it worked for me :cool:

sorry i confuse myself at times lol the betta with either ram is fine and get along ,but the 2 rams which i hope are f/m seem to dislike each other at feeding times ,wether this is a feeding thing or i have 2 males or vice versa , im pretty sure i got opposite sexes

evening just sat and watched my little ones at feeding time ,and it was great to watch all the different eating habits especially the rams who just sit and gobble the food up tasting every piece lol (like my mum used to say chew your food ) but on another note the rams and the betta seemed...

hi all got 2 lovely little clown loach today but so far they are hiding in rocks and dont seem to wanna come out to play maybe some bloodworm will entice them later,will get some pics up soon as thats what you all get for me buying a new camera (lots of pics):rofl:

hi thanks for all your help during my cycle test results today were ammonia 0ppm nitrites 0ppm nitrates 40 ppm i think it cycled i just left it for a couple of days with lights off and forgot about it cheers

hi all let testing for a few days to give my tank a rest and done a check this morning my results were nitrites 0ppm ammonia 0ppm nitrates 40 ppm is this good news at last cheers

sorry for the delayed reply getting married in the morning so all over the place lol the tap water was at 25ml/g he was using the tetra liquid test tank water was ammonia 1.5 mg/l nitrites were 3.3-33 mg/l maxed out he said my tap water was ok nitrate wise cheers couple of picks of my tank...

hi my nitrite reading were 5.0 not 50 ppm ???? i took a sample to my lfs and they said my tap water was just about ok for nitrates ,my tank water reading were same high in nitrites ,he told me to not bother with ammonia and to just leave my tank with light off lol and he told me to never do a...

please help im so confused im adding pure ammonia up to 4.0 ppm its back to 1.0 ppm in under 24 hours nitrites havent moved in 2 weeks 5.0 ppm + nitrates are all over the shop starting from 80 ppm to 10/20 ppm then 5.0 ppm to 40 ppm ,then today back to 5.0 ppm ?? have i messed up somewhere here...

ok just done another test to check my ammonia and its gone down to 2.0 ppm from 4.0 ppm in 6 hours nitrites were sky high 5.0 ppm nitrates have gone down to 5.0 ppm thought that was a bit strange ,thought nitrates would be going up??
