    what is the difference

The immaculate puffer procreates asexually, and the dogface puffer has to pay another puffer for procreation. :D (OK, that was really, really bad.)

    My poor star...

Sounds like your starfish is about to become two starfish. Poor little guy's lonely and decided to make a friend of himself. Congratulations!

    Colored backing for large tank?

You could try photographic background paper and cello tape to make your own background. The paper comes in rolls anywhere from 26" by 12yards, up to 107" x 24yards and in just about any color you could want. All for $15 to $50 (depending on size). HTH, Gib

New to Reef Tanks - Where to buy?

I'm hoping to make it over there this weekend. They are quite a bit larger than the first LFS I went to earlier this week.

New to Reef Tanks - Where to buy?

Thanks for the advice! I was looking at saltwaterfish.com for livestock as they have pretty good prices and seem like good people. Yak, I'm thinking you're right in buying a tank locally. Luckily, I just found http://www.tropicisleaquarium.com/index.html which seems like it should have a pretty...

New to Reef Tanks - Where to buy?

Ok, I stopped by my LFS for some real-time advice and have decided to avoid them for the most part as they wanted to do a COMPLETE reef setup in a week and a half (that's from dry tank to LS, LR, Inverts, Fish, Anemone's, Coral, etc.) AFAIK, that would pretty much be a guaranteed disaster...
