Please recommend a GOOD heater :+)

I use Ebojagger heaters, never had any problems with them. You didn't say what type of tank you have (FW,SW) also if you have MH lighting this will raise the temperature in your tank. IM sure others will post everyone has there favorites.

    agressive fish

The Spotted Grouper, also known as the Whitespotted Grouper, Summan Grouper, or Speckled Fin Grouper, has a dark brown to black body marked by white polka-dots. A 70 gallon or larger aquarium is required due to its size and feeding habits. It is an extremely aggressive fish and may eat tank...

    1st saltwater ideas on equip?

Before you go and purchase anything, You should take a look into the future and decide what you plan on keeping in your tank. Buying from the web is cheaper but watch the S&H charge it can wind up being more expensive. If you plan on keeping acropora's and clams I would suggest you start with at...

Do bristle worms spawn like snails

Guess thats what it was. First time I ever saw this. They must do this when the lights are out or I think I would have seen this as cloudy as the tank became.

Do bristle worms spawn like snails

I was looking at my 75 gal. reef and this plume of white started coming up from a hole the bristle worm had been in, The bristle worm has been in my tank from the beginning about 5 years and is about 14" in length. It looked like when snails put sperm up during mating only it came from the sand...

I can not say what the out come will be but here is a link to a clam site I belong to. They are friendly and willing to help, just as this site is. Good luck. When the...

    Broken Chiller - Dead Tang

I am not sure if it was on this site or elsewhere but in one of the DIY post they made a chiller out of a small cooler with tubing and a small pump, using ice cubes to cool down the tank. guess you would have to watch that the temp. dosen't go to cold. This might buy you some time why your...

Clam Placement As well as new additions

As far as your Anchor coral goes it should be about middle to the top of your tank with a moderate flow. Your Blue rimmed Deresa only has one problem I see. This clam can grow twice it size in one year, from your picture it looks like it could be tight. My Deresa opened fully the next day. Clams...

Should I shut off my U.V. sterilizer

RR is right UV should be left on 24/7 and run at a slow rate to kill parasites in there infancy state. Besides replacing the bulb every 6 months, you might want to clean the glass tube every couple of months as algae will cover the tube reducing its effectiveness.

    Are DSB's timebombs?

Before my 75 gal. reef broke a silicone joint in the bottom last year, My DSB which was and is 5 " of bagged live sand from the LFS was a little over 4 years old. I had no problems that could not be pinned on my mistakes but my tank was thriving. When I setup up my new tank I used the old sand...

Protein skimmer, Hang it or Hide it.

I ran my Berlin both ways and really didn't see a difference in how it worked. The main reason I placed mine in my sump was to get rid of the big PH sitting in my tank, Kind of takes away from the natural look. The sump is a great way to get the hardware out of the main tank and hide it.
