Mine used to sleep tucked into a piece of dead coral until I moved them to a new tank. Now they sleep verticle upside down in the corner. Looks crazy.

6 I think would be a lot to add all at once to any tank. Remember that the biofilter is good for what is in te tank now, it has to build up to handle more fish. I'd only do 2 at a time unless they were really really small.

I'd think that regular tap water would be fine to rinse the sand too. I did that with all my base rock then let it dry off overnight. I've learned from reading the posts here that you might want to ditch the bioballs in the sump though. I guess they cause nitrate problems down the road.

Nope didn't make a difference.

The connection under the tank seems air tight. The hose is all the way over the barbs and then clamped. I'll try sealing that up some more though as well as turning off the skimmer. I'm not seeing any bubbles in the sump at all though.

I have my pumps and heater on a 1500 Amp battery back up. The skimmer and power heads are on another one. I get about an hour on the pump and heater. I figure if it looks like it's going to be a long time til the powers back I've got about 2 hours to getto home depot and back with a generator.
